Through my designs I explore duality; striking a balance between contrast and unity. I am often inspired by beautiful imperfections found in traditional printing techniques such as letterpress or screen printing.

ZINES

NOTICE

In the Spring of 2015 I was a member of a temporary art collective known as “The Transparency Group”. The group consisted of artists from various disciplines: Photography, Sculpture, Graphic Arts, Painting, and Printmaking who had a interest in focusing on issues of transparency. We needed a way to present our collective work to the public. After several brainstorming sessions it was decided that the best course of action was to create a zine. Having had previous experience designing zines, I was put in charge of layout and working with each artist to ensure the final product flowed cohesively in addition to designing an attention grabbing cover.

Tales from the Print Room

I put together this zine to showcase all that PrintMakeIt had accomplished in the first year since its inception, which ranged from pop-up galleries to installations, guest lectures and workshops. I decided to present the content chronologically both as a way to manage content and to take the reader on a journey through the evolution of our organization. To help capture the heart and soul of the organization; the spirit of the people who were drawn together through our mutual love of all thing print. I asked my fellow members to each design a two page spread with the only requirement being that showcase both their love of the process and what PrintMakeIt meant to them. We all came back with vastly differing spread that perfectly added a human element to the design.
